So, this week I signed up to receive a 30 lb. box of Organic Produce for $30.00. We received a nice portion of vegetables and fruits which will last for the better part of the week. Plums, oranges, strawberries, pears, green beans, bananas, lettuce, cucumber...the basics and then some. The only thing I noticed about this produce was that it is all from either Mexico, Ecuador or Argentina. None of it is from the good ole U.S of A! I have a dilemma...do I continue buying the produce deemed organic regardless of it's country of origin or do I go back to my regular routine at Publix where I search out whatever produce is in season here in the states, keeping my cash here supporting American farmers?
