I recently picked up a copy of the latest Kid's Bible - NLT Hands-On Bible! As a former school teacher and as of next week a full-time homeschool mom, I am excited to see that Tyndale has put out a publication that can be part of our weekly routine during our Bible time in school. Keeping to the classic layout of Genesis - Revelation, the Hands-On Bible makes it easy to find passages unlike most kid's and children's Bibles that seem to pick and choose Bible stories instead of sticking to scripture. I am of the mindset that if we are called to have the faith of little children then surely the Word of God is appropriate to read to our kids. One feature of this Bible are the Key Verse Activities.
There are 52 activities to help kids learn, understand and live out important Bible truths. There is one activity for each week of the year. It is one of my favorite features in using this as part of our homeschooling curriculum.
A few other features worth mentioning - Bible Book Introductions, Bible Hero Biographies, a kid-friendly Q & A section. And something I believe no Bible should be without - a good dictionary/concordance complete with maps and charts to reinforce the truth! (That's my B.A. in History coming out! :) lol
This Bible by Tyndale and Group Publishers is well worth the $24.99 retail price. And to make things more exciting, the first person to reply to my blog about this Bible will get a Gift Certificate to receive a free copy from Tyndale! You can't beat that!!
As moms it is important that we find exciting ways to introduce our children to the Word of God. The Hands-On Bible is an amazing resource to have in the home. I encourage you to get a copy today!

Excellent review. My wife and I are looking forward to getting a copy or two of the Hands on Bible for my two eldest homeschoolers (8 and 5).
ReplyDeleteI'm excited that the the boys and I will be able to use the same Bible translation. It'll make family devotional time all the more productive.
Please send me the address I can send your gift certificate to. I received the certificate from Tyndale House so if you do not have a local retailer who carries the book you can send the certificate to Tyndale and they will send you your book! :) You can email me your mailing address to markangela8799@att.net
